The objective of Try Not To Laugh is simple: avoid laughing while your opponents try their best to make you crack up. Players take turns drawing cards from their chosen genre and reading jokes aloud. If you laugh, you lose the round. The game continues until all cards are played, or the players decide to stop.
Try Not To Laugh offers two exciting game modes:
- Splash: Players try to make each other laugh while holding water in their mouths. If you laugh and spit out the water, you lose the round.
- Harsh: This mode adds a layer of challenge with dares or penalties for laughing. Penalties can range from lighthearted (like eating something sour) to more extreme (like taking a shot), depending on what the group agrees upon.
Each player selects 5-10 cards (depending on how many are playing) from their preferred genre—Dark Humor, Dad Jokes, or Relatable. Before starting, decide on a game mode (Splash or Harsh). Players then take turns drawing cards and trying to make others laugh without laughing themselves. The game ends when all cards are played, players choose to stop, or a player/team forfeits.
